A purpose watermark labels a copy. It does not prevent all misuse or replace the original document. Check your recipient’s requirements.

FOUR SIMPLE STEPS

A clearer way to share a copy.

  1. Choose a clear image.

Use a photo or scan with all the required details visible.

  2. Name the recipient and purpose.

Replace general wording with the specific organization and task.

  3. Check the preview.

Keep important details readable. Compare with your original if needed.

  4. Download and review.

Open the file before sending it through the recipient’s verified channel.

Before you share

What should I write on an ID watermark?

A useful starting point is “For [Recipient] — [Purpose] only — [Date]”. Replace the brackets and check the final text. A generic “COPY” does not identify the recipient or purpose.

Can I watermark a passport or driving licence?

You can add a purpose mark to a supported image of your own document copy. Whether a marked copy is accepted depends on the recipient and their process. This tool does not verify identity or document authenticity.

Is my original changed?

No. You download a new image. The original file you selected is not overwritten. Your image and text are not automatically stored when you leave the page.

Which formats and sizes can I use?

JPG, PNG and WebP images up to 20 MB and 40 megapixels. HEIC opens only when your browser supports it. Exports keep the aspect ratio and use up to 4,096 pixels on the longest side. PDF and SVG input are not supported.

Where does the download go on iPhone?

Safari may place it in Downloads in Files, or open a preview with a share menu. If a preview opens, use Share to save it. Review the saved file before sharing it with someone else.
